East Midlands Railway assure Nottingham Forest supporters that they will get home

East Midlands Railway has said that Nottingham Forest fans with a train ticket will be able to get home from London. It comes after huge queues and delays for Forest fans heading to Wembley for the play off final.

The rail company has assured fans in the capital will be able to get back to Nottingham after the match. They warn that services are expected to be extremely busy.

In a Tweet, East Midlands Railway said: "We are expecting services to be extremely busy, however, please rest assure that we will make sure that everyone with a valid ticket will get back to their destinations."

To help fans get home, the 20:32pm service from London St Pancras to Derby will now be calling at Nottingham as well.

Fans heading to the final have experienced queues at Nottingham station and packed trains. East Midlands Railway encouraged supporters to head to other stations in the region to better their chances of getting to London.

Train tickets purchased for East Midlands Railway have been allowed to be used on other companies, different times and from other stations. The match kicks off at 4:30pm today.

EMR issue delay repays to anyone who has been delayed by 15 minutes or more. To claim a delay repay, fans need to show proof of a valid ticket.

The amount of money you get refunded depends on the length of the delay. If you are delayed by 15 to 29 minutes, 25% of the cost of your single ticket or 12.5% of the cost of your return ticket will be refunded.

If delayed by30 to 59 minutes, 50% of the cost of your single ticket or 25% of the cost of your return ticket will be refunded. Delays between 60 to 119 minutes will mean 100% of the cost of your single ticket or 50% of the cost of your return ticket will be returned.

Delays 120 minutes or more will mean that 100% of the cost of your ticket, whether single or return is refunded. To make a claim, visit East Midlands Railway's website.
