Passengers travelling with East Midlands Railway have been warned of delays due to strike action. RMT and TSSA unions will be taking strike action today (Thursday, August 18) and Saturday, August 20.
Due to the strike action, East Midlands Railway are significantly reducing their services and will only be operating limited services between 7:30am and 6:30pm. Customers are asked only to travel by rail if necessary, and if they do decide to travel they are asked to plan ahead and leave additional time for disruption.
Unlike previous strike days, EMR connect services between Nottingham and Sheffield and Leicester and Nottingham will not be able to run. Today's strike action will see one train per hour between Nottingham and London, and one train per hour between Nottingham and Derby.
There will also be one train per hour between Nottingham and Leicester, which is a stopping service. Network Rail is also affected by the strike, and whilst they will continue to operate their larger control centres, there will not be sufficient staff numbers for smaller sites and signal boxes to be managed.
