An East Lothian pub has been awarded the title of ‘Lothians Pub of the Year 2022’.
Stagg’s Musselburgh, also known as The Volunteer’s Arms, has received the award from CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ale).
The awards were founded in 1971 by real ale enthusiasts and since then recognised the popularity of the pub and has awarded them many times before.

The popular pub now holds a collection of titles and awards. Customers have commented on the venues large range of beers and ales and the friendly atmosphere in the pub.
In 1998, 2016 and 2018 they scooped up the prize for best pub in Scotland and Ireland and have now won Best in the Lothians over 25 times.
In 1998 they were also crowned with the Best in the UK award.
Every year local CAMRA members vote to choose the best pubs in Edinburgh, the Lothians and Borders.
CAMRA Branch Chair, Pat Hanson said: “The display of previous CAMRA awards at Stagg's is testament to the consistency and excellence of their real ale over the years.
“Out of dozens of real ale pubs in the Lothians (outside Edinburgh) Stagg's has been voted into top place again by our members and the award will be well-deserved.”
