The quality of an East Lothian new build has gone viral after a TikTok was posted apparently showing a number of issues in the brand new home.
Viewed over 1.1 million times in the last few days, the short clip posted by @newhomequalitycontrol filmed an array of "snagging" - or defect - issues as they carried out their report.
Working on the Bellway site in Blindwells, East Lothian, the video was narrated by a "quality inspector" as they made their way around the £275,000 property.

Appearing well from a first glance, the clip highlighted issues with air bricks, loose screws, broken ceramics and even a "shocking" finish under the stairs.
Having a close up look at the build, @newhomequalitycontrol said: “We’re back on the Bellway site near Edinburgh, this gas box has been installed poorly, we can’t really access the metro and when you open the lid look it damages the rough cast, shocking.
“We should really have a 75mm gap between the air bricks and the ground level, but look at this, it’s a recurring issue.
“We’ve got a poor finish left inside of the patio doors, we’ve got screws missing to the bottom gate hinge, we’ve actually got a broken screw there.
“Right hand side of the ensuite hand basin is smashed up, nice, this light switch is loose, lovely.
“I’d really like to know if anyone from Bellway is watching, is this the correct finish for under the stairs, because surely you’d finish it with plaster board, no? We’ve got CLS on show that’s just been painted, we can see all the underside of the stairs all the components are showing, I mean really is this the finish for under the stairs?
“I mean the clients paid just under £275,000 for it, I mean we can see the joists, what’s going on here. We’ve also got fixings missing underneath the stairs, absolutely shocking.
After watching the video, nearly 800 TikTok users flooded in with their views on the new build.
One viewer replied: “You put me off ever being slightly interested in a new build!”
Another was quick to comment saying: “Wish you’d been around to inspect our home a few years back!”
However, one user said they “had a Bellway home and never experienced any issues.”
