An East Lothian gran who was suffering from back pain was informed she in fact has terminal cancer.
Jane Turner, 42, received the shocking diagnosis just five weeks ago. Her family say she went from a life of relative health, aside from back pain at work, to now being unable to walk or talk.
The mother-of-five, who has been told she has just days left, was working at Seton Sands Holiday Park but has had to quit and is at home with husband David and their four children. On top of this, five-year-old son Carter is dealing with cerebral palsy.

Amy Hunter, partner of Jane’s son Ryan, has launched a fundraiser to help support the family. While Amy and Ryan live with their own children, the shocking news has taken a toll on their finances as well.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live , Amy said: “It was just six weeks ago that she had a very sore back, and went to her doctor.
“The GP thought it was her gallbladder, sent her up for a scan at the infirmary. It was during the scan they discovered other things were going on and did more tests.
“That’s when we found out that it was cancer. The more tests they’ve done, they’ve told it’s terminal.”
Jane’s cancer is spreading quicker than doctors are able to treat, and her declining health has come as a total shock to those around her. Amy continued: “It’s so hard.
“We’re not getting any time to digest what’s going on. It doesn’t seem real, it hasn’t sunk in, it’s just horrific.”
Amy’s partner Ryan was working full time, though has been signed off by his doctor from the stress. Due to his line of work, he won’t get paid for being off.
Amy said: “On top of Ryan not taking in any money, one of Jane’s youngest sons who has cerebral palsy is in the house. Jane’s husband is taking care of him, and the other kids.
“The fundraiser is to support them, pay bills. They’ve got nothing coming in at the moment.”
