An East Lothian schoolboy has died after being raced to Edinburgh's Royal Infirmary, according to the Edinburgh Evening News.
Police were alerted to 'concern' for the teen just before 7pm on May 2, and he was then rushed to hospital where he died a short time later. Officers have said there 'appear to be no suspicious circumstances' surrounding the 17-year-olds death.
The boys name and details surrounding the death have not yet been released.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.50pm on Tuesday, 2 May 2023, police were called to a school in the Linkfield Road area of Musselburgh following concern for a 17-year-old male. He was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he died a short time later.

"At this time, there would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
A spokesperson for Loretto School said: “Following a medical emergency last Tuesday evening at the school, paramedics were called to the school to treat a pupil. Sadly, he passed away a short time later in hospital.
"The school community is devastated and we are giving his family all the support we can. We have also been working with pupils and staff impacted by this tragic news and that is our focus for now.”
