Drivers in the Lothians have been warned that continuing works on the A1 are set to cause disruption for the next three months.
Work is currently underway on the new junction being built on the dual carriageway, which will be located near Queen Margaret University.
At present, there are reduced speed limits surrounding works on the road, however the East Lothian Council have warned drivers that further closures and diversions are to arrive next week.

What motorists should be aware of is as follows:

- From 9pm on 7th June until 6am on the 8th, both southbound lanes will be closed as well as the northbound overtaking lane. Diversions will be in place.
- From 30th June to the 31st August, from 7am to 2pm daily, the existing on-slip from the QMU campus onto the A1 southbound will be closed and a diversion put in place.
When complete, the works will include a new northbound on slip-road to the A1 and a new off slip-road from the A1 northbound carriageway which will each meet a newly constructed roundabout, providing access to the future development area around QMU, along with a link road to the existing junction at QMU, which will pass underneath the A1.
The junction will provide critical infrastructure to improve accessibility and connectivity to QMU which, in partnership with East Lothian Council, is delivering an Innovation Hub adjacent to the university – phase one of a wider Edinburgh Innovation Park.
