An overturned tanker is completely blocking East Lancashire Road after a crash.

A video captured on a mobile phone on Monday, August 29, shows a huge cloud of smoke billowing from an overturned tanker on East Lancashire Road. The footage was captured at around 4.20pm near the junction of Carr Mill Road and shows traffic queueing in the area.

People on the video can be seen getting out of their cars to look at the lorry, and attempting to turn around on the westbound carriageway, towards Haydock. Another picture seen by The ECHO shows the tanker has completely turned onto its side and crashed into the central reservation.
