East Kilbride Thistle hope they have created a new young following after their Showpark showcase on Saturday.
The Jags had been running free football camps over the summer for 5-12 year-olds and at the weekend the kids who took part were invited down to the Village venue to show off their skills and pick up certificates to recognise their achievements.
Youngsters also mixed with members of the first team squad, including Barry Russell, Jamie Longworth and manager Garry O’Hanlon.
They had some fantastic fun in the sun as they played mini games on the Showpark pitch and showed the players what they had learned during their summer sessions.
And O’Hanlon hopes the kids will keep coming back after they also cheered them on during a 2-2 draw with Ardrossan Winton Rovers following the showcase.
He said: “It was an amazing day.
“The kids and their parents were there from the camps the week before with Aaron Connolly and David Gray.
“They all loved it and I think some of the kids have created their own wee ultras group to cheer us on.
“They were loving it with their drum and stuff and the side of the park as well.
“I’m just disappointed we couldn’t get the three points for them and us.
“Barry Russell, Jamie and myself were giving out their certificates and they were all mixing with the kids.
“Hopefully it’s a day they kids all enjoyed and can look back on.”I hope it’s encouraged them to come back down and watch the games in future.”
