East Kilbride Thistle appoint new manager on deal until the end of the season

East Kilbride Thistle have appointed Aaron Connolly as their next permanent manager following a month-long caretaker role at the club.

Former Ayr United striker Connolly took the reins at the West of Scotland Third Division side fter Garry O'Hanlon was sacked last month and has so far guided the Jags to three wins in four games.

And now the Showpark side have moved to make the 31-year-old, who has had three stints at Thistle as a player, the club's next boss on a deal until the end of the season.

The club announced the news last night, stating: "East Kilbride Thistle are delighted to announce Aaron Connolly has accepted an offer to remain as manager until the end of the season.

"Aaron will be assisted by Mark Steele, John Connolly and John Hughes."

The first game for Connolly as boss is a daunting one, however, as they welcome Premier Division giants Darvel to the Showpark on Saturday in the second round of the South Challenge Cup.
