Earning Rs 1-2 lakh a month in a tier-1 city? Woman says you might still be caught in a "salary trap"

A monthly income between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh is generally seen as a comfortable earning bracket in India, yet a content creator has argued that this range can still leave residents of tier-1 cities under considerable financial strain.

In a video posted on Instagram, the creator described what she called the "Rs 1 to Rs 2 lakh salary trap," explaining that those earning this amount in major cities frequently encounter substantial financial pressure and find genuine financial freedom difficult to achieve.
