The Boston Celtics have won their first two games of the NBA’s 2023-24 season with a surprising focus on defense, the Celtics having taken out the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden and the Miami Heat at TD Garden to go 2-0 to start their next run at hanging Banner 18.
Opponents are shooting a remarkable 38.8% in the restricted area against the Celtics, and while their perimeter defense could use some work, they have won two tilts in a row despite facing teams with strong 3-point shooting. The offense is still a work in progress, with room for improvement in ball movement and consistency, but the Celtics’ ability to secure clutch wins and make big plays at the end of games is a positive sign for the season ahead.
To talk over what developments might be coming down the pike soon this season for the storied ball club, the hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast sat down to talk through some early-season questions for Boston in the clip embedded below.
