An ancient human ancestor believed to have gone extinct thousands of years ago may still be alive somewhere in the world, an expert claims.
Homo floresiensis, nicknamed 'the hobbit' due to its average height of 3ft 6ins, is thought to have lived between 60,000 and 700,000 years ago on the island of Flores, which is now part of Indonesia.
It is believed they were small-brained, big-footed toolmakers, however it is currently unknown where the species evolved from.
