If you enjoyed the last two AFC championship games between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals — and their all-world quarterbacks — then you’re going to love next season’s MVP race.
That’s if the betting odds turn out to be correct.
Early odds at BetMGM have a three-way tie for the favorite to win the 2023 award, with both Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes included in the trio at +650. The third quarterback is another considered one of the league’s best, Josh Allen, who was favored to win the award this past season before Mahomes snagged it by throwing for over 5,000 yards and 41 touchdowns.
However, the only constant among the favorites across other sportsbooks is Mahomes.
At DraftKings, Mahomes is tied with Burrow as the favorite. At PointsBet, Mahomes is tied with Allen. At Caesars, Mahomes sits alone at the top.
Justin Herbert (+900) and Jalen Hurts (+1000) have the consensus fourth and fifth best odds before things vary more across different sbooks.
At BetMGM, Tua Tagovailoa is tied with Hurts at +1000 odds, followed by Trevor Lawerence and Dak Prescott at +1400 and Lamar Jackson at +1600. Every other player’s odds is 20-1 or longer.
