Having blown Kilmarnock away with four goals inside 30 minutes on Sunday, Celtic now look to be a matter of weeks away from securing their second league title under Ange Postecoglou.
Rangers looked to have thrown away more points in their clash with St Mirren after an impressive Mark O'Hara double, but the late fightback saw them stay 12 points adrift with six games still to play.
This weekend marks the final set of fixtures before the split, with the Hoops welcoming Motherwell to Celtic Park before Rangers travel to Pittodrie to take on a resurgent Aberdeen side.

But for Celtic fans, the feeling of all but won is sinking in as the trophy looks set to be draped in green and white once again, with the party edging closer and closer by the game.
With the post-split fixtures yet to be determined due to victories for Hibs and Livingston at the weekend, fans will have to wait a little longer to see who Celtic could seal the deal against.
It could however be a month at most before the title is confirmed to be returning to Parkhead, as we take a look at the possible date Celtic could be crowned champions.
Post-split fixture dates
- Rd 34 - Weekend of May 6/7
- Rd 35 - Weekend of May 13/14
- Rd 36 - Weekend of May 20/21
- Rd 37 - Midweek of May 23/24
- Rd 38 - Weekend of May 27/28
Should Aberdeen pull off a massive result this Sunday in toppling Rangers and Postecoglou's squad pick up three points from the Steelmen, the gap would then extend to 15 points with five games to play.
Victory a fortnight later on May 6/7 would then confirm the title, because despite the 15-point lead, there is still the matter of goal difference, albeit a completely unrealistic hope for Rangers with Celtic leading the charge on an incredible 78 goals to their 49.
If Rangers were to beat Aberdeen, then it would require a defeat for Michael Beale's men in the first post-split fixture and a win for Celtic to keep the trophy in their grasp and for the celebrations to start that weekend.
Rangers winning their first post-split fixture would then leave the title wait going until the weekend of May 13/14 when a win for Celtic would hand them their second title in-a-row since Postecoglou took over as manager.
Plenty of Celtic fans are desperate to see yet another treble and a first under the Australian, so all eyes will be on Barry Robson's Dons to see if they can get the party started early, with May 6/7 set to be the soonest possible weekend.
It's a massive achievement for the Hoops, and there are still plenty of records to be broken including the points tally of 106 set by Brendan Rodgers in 2016/17.
But the focus for many is on sealing a 53rd Premiership crown, and for Celtic the champagne may well be flowing in as early as 18 days time.
