Members of the public have slammed "bully" Eamonn Holmes after the television presenter asked GB News viewers to share any Phillip Schofield 'kiss and tell' stories. Eamonn's plea came following the news of his former ITV colleague's affair with a young male runner on the show.
Eamonn, 63, launched a furious rant against the former This Morning star according when he invited people tuning in to get in touch if they had "kissed Phillip Schofield," with his comments receiving a huge backlash.
"I put it to anyone watching today that if you have kissed Phillip Schofield let us know. Let us see if that figure of one grows to the figure that I believe it is probably at," Belfast-born presenter Eamonn fumed.
He added: "He’s admitted he is a liar. You should see the emails, the texts and the messages I’ve been sent over the past week. I think he’s getting off very very lucky."
"Like everybody else he lied to me, I was happy to stand by him until I found out that he was lying... This isn’t about him being gay, not in the slightest," Eamonn insisted.
Eamonn has frequently criticised his former colleague in a series of rants on social media when Phillip's affair with a young male colleague at ITV came to light.
And now amid the constant backlash aimed towards Phillip following his "unwise but not illegal" affair, fans have taken to social media accusing Eamonn of taking things too far, reports the Mirror.
"I can’t believe people talk this way about another human being the way they do in this cowardly anonymous way, it’s still bullying," one wrote. "He has made a mistake and we are all allowed to be forgiven."
"It’s disgusting and frightening the way he has spouted off," another added, as they accused Eamonn of "being mad at ITV."
"I think you are a DISGRACE. Stop for one moment and think of what you are doing and the impact this may have on Phillip’s wife, daughters and his elderly mother. My god do you have no conscience??? I cannot believe what you have done and what you continue to do," one furious follower commented.
Someone else added: "You're coming across as a massive bully. Saying it once is enough we don’t need to keep seeing your name with a new comment everyday. Becoming boring."
While another begged Eamonn to "be a good person today, instead of the vindictive, jealous, bully you have become".
Although Eamonn did have some support from his fans, as one wrote: "I don’t usually comment but just felt compelled to say - Well done you for speaking up Eamonn! And more importantly - Telling the truth. God bless."
