Eamonn Holmes to remain off TV until next year after suffering horror fall

GB News star Eamonn Holmes is to remain off air until the new year following a horror fall, it has been confirmed.

The veteran broadcaster, 62, had previously been off the airwaves after undergoing an operation in September in a bid to ease the "pain and restrictions" he had been suffering from for over 18 months.

However, the former This Morning presenter has faced yet another health setback after having a fall and fracturing his shoulder at his Surrey home.

The latest blow for Eamonn has caused him to go under the knife once again just weeks after the surgery on his spine but despite initially feeling "gutted", he's reportedly on the mend now.

Now, his GB News co-star Isabel Webster has spoken of Eamonn's recovery as she addressed viewers saying: "It's been a tough few weeks for my lovely friend and co-presenter.

"I can't wait to have him back, fighting fit, in the New Year."

Earlier today, it was confirmed by a spokesperson for Eamonn that he would be off screens for some more time, telling Express.co.uk that Eamonn had fallen down a set of stairs.

A spokesperson for the broadcaster said: "As a consequence of being laid low by major surgery, Eamonn suffered a fall at home a couple of weeks ago and had to undergo another operation.

"He's naturally gutted by the setback, but the good news is the surgery on his shoulder went well. He’s now receiving fantastic care and rest."

They went on to add: "But despite being in an awful lot of pain, he's remaining positive and is looking forward to doing what he loves most and being back on TV and presenting on GB News just as soon as he can.

"Eamonn would like to say thank you for the wonderful care he has received from the NHS. He’d also like to thank everyone who has sent him get-well messages.

"Eamonn's focus now is solely on resting, and getting better - which he is determined to do."

The star recently opened up about feeling "humiliated" after struggling to walk before covering the late Queen Elizabeth's funeral due to his condition.

Just weeks after his first operation, during an appearance on GB News, he told Isabel: "You're one of my dearest friends in life Isabel, and you go above and beyond the call of duty.

"I mean, there is such a beautiful heart with you but I mean it was humiliating for me, you took me through that crowd and I stumbled a few times, and my leg gave way a few times. And after that I was a bit humiliated really. You didn't make any issue of it, but it was an issue for me."
