Eamonn Holmes attended a showbiz Christmas party last night on crutches.
The former This Morning presenter, 63, has grappled with chronic pain over the past year, leaving him to rely on the walking aids to get around and manage his symptoms.
But that didn’t stop the Good Morning Britain host from smiling alongside Piers Morgan at his annual festive event on Friday night, as he dubbed the gathering as ‘better than medicine’.
The Piers Morgan Uncensored star, 57, also smiled next to his guest Eamonn whilst holding his hand.
Taking to Instagram, Eammon wrote in the caption: “Big step forward for me tonight - literally. Got myself to a Christmas gathering hosted by Piers .
“Felt really good being out and mixing . Better than medicine. Happy Christmas everyone,” he concluded.
The former journalist previously opened up about his ‘hellish’ rehabilitation has been since undergoing a back operation, after he fell down the stairs and fractured his shoulder.
He said: “It was a massive setback and means I’m going to need to take some extra time off to get myself better. It’s been a hellish few weeks.
“But day by day I’m improving, and I am remaining positive and trying to look on the bright side,” he said at the time.
In September, Eamonn announced that he would be taking a leave of absence from his role on GB News after scheduling surgery to treat his chronic back pain.
The presenter has long been open with his fans about his health setbacks and initially opted for steroid injections in his back after doctors first advised not to operate on his back after he dislocated his pelvis and slipped three discs in his spine.
Eamonn revealed that he had a routine of daily exercise and physiotherapy, as well as painkillers and regular massage appointments to keep the pain at bay.
He said to the Express at the time of his surgery: “I pray that God will guide my surgeon’s hand this week and help me get back to the man I used to be.
“The thing is I might have a way out. So many others will never have that hope and that can be the most crushing pain of all.
“I am hoping that this will be a Back to the Future procedure and that I go back to the way I was 18 months ago,” he concluded in the interview.
