Eamonn Holmes has told his fans that his life has changed 'beyond recognition' as he shared a poignant photo with them on social media. The GB News presenter took to Instagram with a sweet snap of himself alongside his late mum, Josie, and two of his brothers.
Back in November, Eamonn shared the heartbreaking news that his beloved mother had died. He confirmed the sad news on Instagram alongside a photo of his mum before her death waving to him from her front door.
He then shared a moving message, sharing the 'only consolation' he and his four brothers can find in their loss. "My 4 amazing brothers and I said Goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon," Eamonn typed alongside the image, posted to his hundreds of thousands of followers.
The 62-year-old went on: "She's at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation. We loved and will miss her so much. Every time I visited her she came to the door to bless me with Holy Water and Wave goodbye." He then ended his upsetting post: "Now sadly it really is Goodbye Mummy x."
He was then later unable to travel back to Northern Ireland to attend the funeral and had to watch via a stream at the Surrey home he shares with his TV star wife Ruth Langsford after he suffered a terrible fall, fracturing his shoulder, not long after undergoing back surgery in a bid to help ease the chronic pain he has been suffering for years.
In his new post, Eamonn shared the moving image of himself, Josie and two of his siblings and wrote: "A couple of my bothers , me and Mum a year ago. Life ended for her and changed beyond recognition for me in a bad way." He then added: "None of us know what's around the corner. Live life well."
The former This Morning star was quickly flooded with supportive messages including from American journalist Kinsey Schofield, who joined Eamonn during coverage of the Queen's death last year, who said: "There are miracles around every corner. I hope things look up for you, friend. You are loved!"
@bdevlin58 said: "Beautiful photo and great memories for you all. life is so precious, from experience you never know what can happen in a split second and change everything x." @matahari_6 shared: "Deepest sympathy, Eamonn! Lost my mum in 2001 and still think of her and miss her every day."
@jodiebrookewilson posted: "Bless you that’s a beautiful photo and like Des I feel she will always be around you too sending you lots of love." @margaret.evans11 commented: "Your wonderful mum is watching over you and guiding you on this next chapter Eamonn. Stay strong." @siobhan83 added: "Sending lots of love. I lost my dad 3 years ago next month. Time does heal. You learn to live without them, physically. But spiritually they’re still here."
It comes after Eamonn paid tribute to his late mum on his first Mother's Day without her. Earlier this month, he shared a video from when he interviewed Josie. "This is my first year without a Mother on Mother’s Day," he emotionally typed. 2But I did an interview last year where I said how much I loved her.
"How glad I am I did. As you can see she seemed pretty happy. If you still have a Mum . Give her a hug from me and don’t forget her tomorrow. #mothersday #mothers #mum."
