Eamonn Holmes could be in for a telling off at home, after having a dig at Loose Women, the programme his wife and fellow TV star, Ruth Langsford, just happens to host.
While Eamonn left ITV at the end of 2021, to make the switch to GB News, where he now hosts the Breakfast show, other half Ruth has remained at the channel as a regular presenter of Loose Women and even making an unexpected return to This Morning last summer, to host alongside Rylan Clark for a week.
Eamonn ended up taking aim at Loose Women when the subject of his age and the prospect of retirement was raised, while he was on air on GB News earlier this week, with the former GMTV presenter telling his breakfast colleague Isobel Webster that he had 'no desire to be retired,' adding: "A lot of people my age would just feel they are active - well, I'm not physically active but I'm compos mentis and you want to be involved."

He then took a cheeky jab at wife Ruth's programme when he continued: "You are defined by what you do, you don't want to be sitting there at home all day watching Loose Women, do you?"
Eamonn's ill advised jibe about Loose Women came as Ruth singled out him for special praise as she penned an emotional post about Father's Day on her Instagram account. Sharing a photo of her, together with her late father, Ruth wrote: "To everyone, like me, missing their Dads today I send you a big hug. And Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful Dads out there, especially @eamonnholmes."
