GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes has spoken highly of Surrey Police after being pulled over by members of the police force in the early hours of this morning (March 23). The former This Morning presenter was on the roads of Surrey as he headed to work when the incident happened.
According to the seasoned presenter, two young police officers pulled the star over to make sure his vehicle was not stolen. Eamonn wrote on Twitter: "Pulled over by the #Police on the way to work and delighted to be so.
"A lot of car thefts in my area and they were just checking that the car I was in wasn't one of them. 2 young officers in their 20's and an absolute credit to @SurreyPolice."
Eamonn started his new role with controversial broadcasting channel GB News after presenting This Morning alongside his wife Ruth Langsford for fifteen years. During the pandemic, Eamonn had left ITV bosses frustrated after talking about conspiracy theories which linked 5G phone masts to Covid-19, which resulted in the presenter being forced to issue a clarification by Ofcom the following day.
Last week, Eamonn appeared to be all smiles just up the M5 at Cheltenham Racecourse for Cheltenham Festival. Stepping out with his GB News co-presenter Isabel Webster, the pair were seen cheering the jockeys and horses along from the stands.
GB News hit screens in the UK in June 2021, with the promise to 'champion balanced debate'. But the channel suffered a blow just two weeks in when main presenter Andrew Neil left.
Mass controversy has surrounded the channel since its inception. It has been compared to American broadcaster Fox News, and was boycotted by a number of advertisers including IKEA, Nivea, and Kopparberg, although some have since reversed their decision.
Meanwhile, Ruth Langsford remains a crucial part of the ITV daytime TV family, having roles on both This Morning and Loose Women. Ruth and Eamonn have been married since June 2010, and share a son, 20-year-old Jack.
