Eamonn Holmes offers sad update over 'looking brill' remark after saying he 'needs assistance'

Eamonn Holmes shared an upsetting response to a fan who told him he was 'looking good' after some suggested he was making a 'dig' with his latest Instagram post.

The GB News presenter hasn't been quiet this week and wasted no time in taking aim at his former co-stars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby amid continued reports that their friendship is on the brink. The This Morning favourites are reportedly in crisis after reports began to circulate that the pair were 'barely speaking' behind the scenes.

Before the planned return to the ITV daytime show for the first time since rumours about their relationship began to circulate - and Phillip issued a statement on his 'rock' Holly - on Monday (May 15), Eamonn launched a blistering attack on his former colleagues. The presenter called the partnership 'a broken fit' as he discussed the fallout on his GB News breakfast show.

"They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there's no chemistry, that it's a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it," he remarked. Continuing, the 63-year-old added: "It's an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there's no difference between whether they present it or anyone else."

And Eamonn's latest Instagram post was flooded wth messages about his former colleagues as he spoke about 'needing assistance' amid his on-going health woes. The TV star has been keeping his loyal followers updated with his health woes and his progress for years after first speaking out about his battle with chronic pain, which he later discovered was being caused by a dislocated pelvis and a trapped sciatic nerve.

He has previously described his struggles over the past few years as 'soul-destroying', and is often seen using walking aides He also underwent surgery last September to try help relieve him of pain before suffering a fall during his recovery, which resulted in him fracturing his shoulder and havbing to have more surgery.

And in his latest Instagram post the veteran broadcaster shared a selfie from the airport as he prepared for a getaway. Eamonn was sat in BA's Additional Assistance check in area which offers help to disabled passengers and those with reduced mobility.

He captioned the photo: "Need a bit of Additional these days...." And his fans and followers were quick to show their support with one, @maureengoldthorpe, writing: "Eamonn - hats off! Looking brill..." but Eamonn sadly replied: "Not feeling it Mo," alongside a face with a tear emoji.

Meanwhile, Eamonn shot back at another follower who suggested he had joined a 'witch hunt' against his former THis Morning collages. "I think I have a lot more insight than u Lorraine," he calpped back.
