GB News presenter Eamonn Holmes swore live on-air, not realising the cameras were rolling as the show returned from a break. The 63-year-old was sharing a conversation with co-host Isabel Webster regarding his travel plans when he made the blunder, before the sound quickly cut out on the show.
The pair were sat at the news desk in front of the GB News backdrop, when Eamonn probed: "Now, how the f*** do you get home today?" Isabel went to respond, but her microphone wasn't turned on, before a title filled the screen.
And viewers of the show were quick to take to social media to point out that the rare mistake hadn't gone unnoticed. One said: "GB News is still just great value," while another, added: ""Just watching that lovely Eamonn & Isabel on GB News, now choking on my cornflakes and clutching my pearls."
The Star reports they sarcastically continued: "@EamonnHolmes I can pick you up on my moped, and you can sit in the sidecar if you like and drop you off home," while a third, went on: "How did he get home?"
It comes after the day prior saw Eamonn launch a heated rant over ITV's this morning, as Holly Willoughby returned to screens for the first time since the departure of long-time co-host Phillip Schofield. Holly enjoyed a two-week absence over the half-term holidays following Phillip's departure from the ITV staple, before returning with a statement on the controversy surrounding Schofield Monday.
Ahead of the show though, Eamonn said: "You think she's got a big mouth? She won't be using it today," aiming a seeming dig at the presenter.
Holly addressed her former colleague's 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a younger colleague and subsequent departure from ITV on Monday morning's edition of This Morning, in an emotional statement at the show's outset. As the cameras began rolling, she said: "Hi there. Good morning. Josie (Gibson), thank you for being here. Right, deep breath.
“Firstly, are you OK? It feels very strange indeed sitting here without Phil. And I imagine that you might have been feeling a lot like I have – shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on, and full of questions.
“You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV, and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.
“And it’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health. I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone. I hope that, as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.
“And, from my heart, can I just say thank you for all of your kind messages. And thank you for being here this morning. Myself, Josie, Dermot, Alison, Craig, and every single person that works on this show will continue to work hard every single day to bring you this show that we love."
