Eamonn Holmes couldn't resist making a rather obvious dig at Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as he hosted GB News on Monday.
The 62-year-old was joined by his co-star Isabel Webster at Buckingham Palace as they broadcast live on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.
At one point, Isabel told viewers watching at home: "Well look, stay with us because after the papers we do have a really interesting guest who suffered that queue and they were not of any insignificant age, we'll be talking to them after we finish speaking to..."
Eamonn butted in and said sarcastically: "What? Holly and Phillip?" referring to his former This Morning colleagues.
Isabel looked shocked and playfully hit him as she told him: "Stop it!" before adding: "No, no this wasn't a queue jumper, this was someone who paid their dues."
Eamonn was referring to the backlash that Holly, 41, and Phillip, 60, have received since their visit to Westminster Abbey last week.
There was public outrage when a photo appeared to show the daytime TV hosts in a fast track lane to pay their respects to the Queen as she was lying in state.
Amid demands for the pair to be sacked and vicious trolling, This Morning issued a statement which explained that Holly and Phillip were in the abbey to film a segment for the ITV daytime show.
In an Instagram post, This Morning wrote: "Hello everyone, we would like to clarify something. We asked Phillip and Holly to be part of a film for this Tuesday’s programme.
“They did not jump the queue, have VIP access or file past the Queen lying in state – but instead were there in a professional capacity as part of the world’s media to report on the event.”
Eamonn has clearly been keeping an eye on the drama and had even liked a tweet from Saturday, written before ITV's statement, which said, in reference to the backlash: "Does this mean we can have @EamonnHolmes and @RuthieeL back on @thismorning please?!" The tweet ended with a praying hands emoji.
Back in 2020, Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford were replaced on This Morning after hosting the show for 15 years.
They covered for Holly and Phil when they were away, but also hosted the Friday morning stint, too.
Eamonn has since been very vocal about ITV and father-of-two Phillip, and even described him as "very passive-aggressive".
