Eamonn Holmes fumes 'Holly knows the truth' as he claims Phillip Schofield was sacked

Eamonn Holmes discussed Phillip Schofield's exit from This Morning on Monday's GB News with co-host Isabel Webster as he slammed Holly Willoughby's goodbye statement.

Speaking about the reported "feud" between the presenters, Eamonn said: "Holly knows the truth, the story is with her."

Isabel confirmed Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary are set to host Monday's This Morning as she added: "All of this comes after the big announcement from Phillip Schofield that he was stepping down..."

Interrupting, Eamonn remarked: "Please, let's stop this, he was sacked."

"All this nonsense about, 'I've decided to step down' I'm sure you did," he sarcastically continued. "Now here's your P45, now step down. Why do we propagate this language? 'I've decided to step down' and [Holly] says the couch won't feel the same without him people there. Well she wanted him not there, so why is she moaning about the couch not feeling the same for? They deserve each other."

Eamonn previously worked with Holly and Phil at ITV. He, and his wife Ruth Langsford presented This Morning on Fridays and during the school holidays before being replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

Since his departure, Eamonn has spoken out against Holly and Phillip on multiple occasions sparking rumours of a feud.

Back in 2019, Ruth reportedly filed an official complaint against Phillip after he cut her off during the crossover from This Morning to Loose Women.

After this reported complaint, Eamonn told the Daily Mail's weekend magazine: "Phillip is renowned for snubbing people. He’s very passive-aggressive. It’s up to Ruth to say how she felt, but I was feeling hurt for her. No one would have snubbed me like that.”

“I don't go for presenters who think they have a special privilege or aura or influence," he added.

After leaving This Morning, Eamonn joined GB News while Ruth continued to host Loose Women.

Viewers praised Eamonn for his brutal observation as one tweeted: "Good old @EamonnHolmes no hold barred and straight to the point. They want a Schofield on the couch I’ll step in."

Another wrote: "Well done Eamon, having worked with them both, if there’s anyone that knows how false they both are it’s you," and a third added: "Go Eamonn have your say! So real!!"

On Saturday, Holly shared a statement on Instagram addressing her former co-host's exit: “It’s been over 13 great years presenting This Morning with Phil and I want to take this opportunity to thank him for all of his knowledge, his experience and his humour. The sofa won’t feel the same without him.”

Meanwhile, Phillip's statement failed to address Holly as he said: “I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

“Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

“So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month.”
