Eamonn Holmes announces 'comeback' as he shares health update amid 'soul-destroying' pain

TV presenter and journalist Eamonn Holmes has revealed he will be making a comeback to his position at GB News in January.

Eamonn, 63, has been struggling from chronic pain, undergoing a variety of different treatments to help amid 'soul-destroying' pain.

He has been suffering from a dislocated pelvis and a trapped sciatic nerve, amongst other health concerns. Sightings of him at a celebrity party on crutches sparked further concern that his health was not improving.

However, the Irish broadcaster has been back to the GB News studios in Westminster and has confirmed he'll be back on TV screens in 2023.

Eamonn shared the good news with fans as he posted a picture of himself behind the news desk, as he wrote: "Been to my GB News studio today to make sure I can cope with mobility. All good.

"The comeback is on for Monday 9th January ! Hope u can join me."

The former This Morning presenter has been flooded with well wishes as friends and fans alike are thrilled to see Eamonn back on his feet and getting back to full health.

One fan commented: "So pleased you will be back on our screens doing what you do best."

Another added: "Glad to hear you’re coming back on our screens. Happy new year to you and Ruth, wishing you health & happiness in 2023."

A third shared: "Really good to see you feeling a lot better. Will be tuning in to see you back on our screens. Happy & Healthy New Year to you, Eamon, Ruth & your Family."

However, Eamonn revealed he still has some steps to go on his recovery journey as he replied to pal and S Club 7 singer Jo O'Meara. The singer responded to the news, as she commented: "Ahhh that’s lovely to hear."

A cautious Eamonn replied: "Not fixed yet Jo ..... but I think working will help a lot x".

Fans had been left worrying about Eamonn's health after wife Ruth Langsford posted a Christmas video without her husband by her side. The couple, who have been married since 2010, are usually inseparable but the video without Eamonn caused fans to worry.

Diving into the comments, many of Ruth's followers asked for an update on Eamonn and how his recovery was progressing.

Earlier this week, Eamonn shared his own health update with fans. Writing on Twitter, he explained: "Worked hard at my physio this morning.

"Very tiring but I've now sat on my backside for 5 hours and feel bad about doing nothing... lack of mobility & depending on others stops me doing really simple things.

"For peace of mind I feel another round of foot exercises coming on."

The battle with chronic pain has been ongoing and in March last year Eamonn described his agony as he discussed attending physio. He said: "Starting the day by tackling the pain from the night before... On the physio table. Chronic pain. Just can't get it to go away."

The pain forced TV presenter and broadcaster Eamonn to take a step back from work under doctor's orders.

Eamonn revealed the break as he shared: "Sadly, so many of you know the feeling. Thanks for sharing your stories. I'm determined to beat this... however much it hurts."
