Eamonn Holmes admires Camilla for adapting to royal life in 'way Diana or Meghan couldn't'

Eamonn Holmes has revealed he admires Camilla Parker-Bowles and how she has taken to life as Prince Charles' wife.

The TV presenter shared that the Duchess of Cornwall is his favourite royal family member as she is "approachable, incredibly friendly" and "a darn good laugh".

He told the Belfast Telegraph: "As I keep telling her, she is my favourite royal, though I’m not sure what her husband makes of that.

"Before Catherine becomes Queen Consort, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will have the job.

"Recently endowed with the title ‘Royal Lady of the most Nobel Order of the Garter’, she has taken to royal life in a way Diana or Meghan couldn’t."

Eamonn has a friendship with Camilla and has met her on a number of occasions.

In 2018, the Northern Irish star broke royal protocol as he planted a kiss on her cheek.

They were both visiting ITV studios in London, where Eamonn exclaimed: "My favourite royal, how are you?" as he pulled her in for a hug and a kiss.

In recent weeks, Eamonn claimed he was given "no reason" for his shock axe from ITV's This Morning.

The presenter had helmed the show for years alongside his wife Ruth Langsford, but The Mirror exclusively broke the news that he had exited the show and moved on to work with GB News.

Sources said at the time that his exit from This Morning "marked the end of an era".

Opening up on his exit from the ITV show, Eamonn says he was never given a reason why he didn't continue on the daytime show, as he admits he has "issues" with bosses over the way they let him go.

Speaking to The Times, he explained: "I don’t have any issues with that at all. I just have issues with why they can’t tell you your time is up. Just have a conversation, any conversation. I was given no reason why I was blocked."

At the time his exit was confirmed, ITV wished him well in a statement.

A spokesperson said: "We would like to wish Eamonn all of the very best in his new role. As a duo, Eamonn and Ruth have been part of the This Morning presenting team for the last 15 years and we thank Eamonn for all of his hard work and contribution to the show."
