In May, musician Taylor Swift told an adoring audience at Lincoln Financial Field that she was an Eagles fan.
“I did see the debate about—I have a lyric that says, ‘With my Eagles t-shirt hanging from the door,’” Swift said then, alluding to "Gold Rush" from 2020's Evermore. "I saw some people wondering if it was the band the Eagles or the team the Eagles and I love the band the Eagles. But guys, come on. I'm from Philly. Of course it's the team."
Oh, how times have changed. Swift is now for all intents and purposes the most famous Chiefs fan in the world, thanks to her relationship with Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce. That has set her up to be the butt of jokes when the Chiefs lose, as was the case Monday when Kansas City fell 21-17 to the... Eagles.
Philadelphia, bringing the "Gold Rush" saga full circle, posted a TikTok early Tuesday morning depicting an Eagles t-shirt hanging from a door.

Being the enemy of the Philadelphia area is unfamiliar territory for Swift, a West Reading, Pa. native who sang the national anthem at a 76ers game as a 12-year-old. It is conversely very familiar territory for Kelce, whose Chiefs topped Philadelphia on Feb. 12 to win Super Bowl LVII.
