Trey Sermon was always the fifth man up and the Eagles are going to release the talented running back ahead of the 4:00 PM deadline.

Philadelphia will likely keep Rashaad Penny, D’Andre Swift, Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott at the running back position.

During the 2023 preseason, Sermon led the Eagles with 30 carries for 105 rushing yards, and three touchdowns.

Sermon could return on the practice squad.
