How does one honor one of the greatest football centers of all time? By digging up a decades-old misspelled tweet, naturally.
Shortly after Philadelphia Eagles’ Jason Kelce announced his retirement on Monday, fans sought to find the best way to honor the 36-year-old legend. Some poured out their emotions, others poured out a dram of whiskey and still others reminisced on the day when the Eagles selected the Cincinnati offensive lineman in the sixth round—and subsequently misspelled his name.
When Philly drafted Kelce in April 2011, the social media team wrote in a now-infamous tweet, “The #Eagles select C Jason Kelsey from Cincinnati with the 191st pick!”
