Sean Desai has his hands filled trying to keep the Eagles’ defense among the NFL’s best after the departure of Jonathan Gannon to the Cardinals.
Desai has spent many a late night at the NovaCare Complex, and during his Friday press conference, the Eagles defensive coordinator had high-praise for All-Pro quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Desai went on to elaborate more while speaking to Dave Zangaro.
“The way his brain works, the questions, the types of questions that he asks, you could tell that he’s just trying to elevate his game to the next level, and really it helps us. It helps me. I told him that. Those questions are important for me to know because our job is to impact the quarterback. We want to try to do that.”
“When you’re a top-level quarterback like he is, I want to get in his brain too and learn what’s actually helpful. Are we doing something that we think is helpful but really isn’t and it really impacted him. So, I think that dialog is great, and he knows he’s got an open door. When he has the opportunity to come and talk ball with me, it’s there.”
Hurts consistently keeps late nights at the office, and the intangibles and work ethic are something that helps separate the MVP candidate from just about every quarterback in the league outside of Patrick Mahomes.
Iron sharpens iron, and Hurts spending time with his defensive coordinator can only help strengthen both sides of the football.
