After using their top pick on Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs, the Lions are trading D’Andre Swift to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Adam Schefter.
The trade is a true homecoming, as Swift is from Philadelphia and went to high school there at St. Joseph’s Prep before attending Georgia.

Moving Swift seemed a formality after the Lions drafted Gibbs with the 12th overall selection in Thursday’s first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The dual-threats are similar players, and Detroit signed David Montgomery during the free agency period.
Swift, a former second-round pick out of Georgia, is one of the league’s top dual threats but has been unable to stay healthy during his three seasons in Detroit.
Swift logged 1,680 yards and 18 touchdowns on 364 carries in three years with the Lions. He also added 1,198 receiving yards and seven additional scores on 156 catches.
