West Coast forward Josh Kennedy has quashed talk of retiring mid-season, with the injury-hit Eagles not giving any thought to early swan songs just yet.
Kennedy and former skipper Shannon Hurn are widely tipped to retire at the end of the AFL season as last-placed West Coast embark on arguably the club's biggest rebuild.
Rumours were circulating on Monday that Kennedy might retire before the end of the season, but he put those to bed on Tuesday.
"There are 12 more weeks of footy this year to go and it's possibly 11 games for me," Kennedy told 6PR.
"If I can play 11 that would be great. If not, I will keep pushing through week-to-week and seeing how the body ticks over."
Eagles coach Adam Simpson said now wasn't the moment to discuss how many games Kennedy and Hurn have left in them.
"I have not thought about that," Simpson said.
"We'll sit down with them when the time's right. They're leaders of our club, we treat them with the utmost respect.
"At the moment we have 24, 25 players available, so it's not really an issue, and we'll cross that bridge when we get to it."
Hurn has missed the past two weeks with a calf injury, but the 34-year-old will make his return in Saturday's clash with the Crows at Adelaide Oval.
Star defender Jeremy McGovern is rated a 50-50 chance to play against the Crows after being subbed out with a painful nerve-related back injury.
"He's walking around today, there's nothing too bad, nothing on scans that suggests it was anything long-term," Simpson said.
"It's just how quickly the muscles can ... they just contracted so hard.
"The quicker it settles down the better. It'll be pretty obvious if he's right or not."
Premiership midfielders Elliot Yeo and Dom Sheed will be given another run in the WAFL, but Luke Shuey will face the Crows after being cleared of any serious damage to his ribs.
West Coast sit bottom of the ladder with a 1-10 win-loss record and a horrendous percentage of 49.7.
The Eagles have lost their past seven games by an average margin of 79.7 points, but the return of a host of stars after the mid-season break will help stem the bleeding.
Yeo, Sheed, Liam Ryan, and Willie Rioli are among the stars on track to return soon.
