Eagle-eyed The Traitors fans fuming after spotting Kieran's sly gesture to expose Wilf

The Traitors ended in spectacular fashion on Thursday night - but the final result has left a bitter taste in some viewers' mouths.

In some of the most dramatic scenes ever witnessed, the hit BBC show ended with the Faithfuls discovering the final Traitor just when it looked like they had remained undetected.

Wilf played an absolute blinder throughout the whole series but fell at the final hurdle because Hannah and Aaron suspected that he had been lying to them the whole time.

But they were completely clueless over Wilf's deception until Kieran left a string of cryptic clues for the others, then voted for him in what he described as a "parting gift".

However, he gave another huge gesture that exposed Wilf that was only spotted by a few eagle-eyed viewers.

After being voted out, Kieran walked round the table to stand up in front of the others and declare he was a Traitor.

While looking at Hannah, he then gave a very obvious look over to Wilf to point her in the right direction.

You can see the cogs turning for Hannah, who had considered Wilf to be her closest friend, as she then glares at her former ally.

Posting the clip on Twitter, one user wrote: "OMG I didn’t clock on to the eyes Kieran gives to Hannah to look at Wilf!!! A nation thanks you Kieran!"

It seems viewers are completely divided, with some claiming Kieran was just playing the game, while others think how he exposed Wilf was unfar.

"Surely thats cheating? He was out at this point. He might aswell have pointed at Will. It's HIM. He's It," one viewer tweeted.

Another added: "As a traitor you have knowledge of everyones position. To say Wilf is a traitor after Kieran got eliminated is bad sportsmanship because he knows 100%. Keiran got outsmarted by Wilf who played the game, the guys a sore loser who delivered a cheap parting shot & prob broke rules."

A third wrote: "It ruined the game. They will definitely tighten the rules up on that next time. The other two traitors who had gone home didn’t do that & it means no matter how well a traitor does, they can’t win if at the end another traitor tells everyone who they are. It’s cheating for sure."

However, others were in favour of Kieran's tactics at the end and thought Wilf got his comeuppance.

"I’m glad he did that because it was the right result. I didn’t like Wilf swearing on their lives he was faithful. He made big errors as a traitor and that was turning on the other traitors when it wasn’t necessary and picking Kieran, otherwise he might have sailed through," said one fan.

Another agreed: "Yeah saw that. Kieran saved the Faithfuls with his GENIUS “parting gift” comment and a simple glance"

Kieran did have a final parting message for Wilf on social media after the final aired on Thursday night.

"Can we give a moment for this man," he wrote on Twitter. "Made the best TV in years, without him the show would not be as good as it was! Epic battle Wilfred you were a worthy opponent, thank you for the memories! xxx #thetraitors."

While Wilf did miss out on the whopping £100k prize, he was actually happy for his fellow contestants at the end.

In his final revelation, Will told his shocked friends: "I'm a Traitor. I can't tell you how f***ing happy I am at the moment. I'm so happy for you guys. I've had to fight, and the more I've got to know you guys and had to try and steal money from you, it's been really hard.

"But honestly, I couldn't go through this process without people that make me happy. You lot made me happy, you made me enjoy being here. Every day I tried to play as a Faithful, I tried to enjoy my time here, and the only way I can do that is by having people like you around me, knowing that at least if this time ever comes, the money's going to people I really like."

There were tears all around before Aaron joked: "You are a massive d***head but I love you so much."

She may have forgiven Wilf, but Hannah says the show taught her a valuable life lesson as he was her best friend in the castle.

"I'm never going to be able to have a relationship again," she told The Mirror. "I was completely under Wilf’s spell the whole time. It was such a shock because we bonded so much it just didn't occur to me ever."

Aaron added: "I was shocked Wilf was a traitor but there was a part of me that had started to suspect it as well."

The three winning Faithfuls have revealed what they will be spending the big cash prize on - with Aaron sweetly vowing to spend his share of the cash on a house deposit for his mum.

Meryl is using her prize money to pursue a career as a TV presenter after quitting as a call centre worker, while Hannah left her job as a care assessor to go on the show and is now doing comedy gigs and podcasting.
