EastEnders fans spotted a Holby City blunder on the BBC One soap - as Phil Mitchell visited Ben in hospital.
The soap recently aired scenes which saw Phil (Steve McFadden) return to hospital to see how his son Ben ( Max Bowden ) was doing after he recently took a drug overdose and was found unresponsive. Whilst Ben is making progress now, fans were left distracted in the scenes as they noticed an error by show bosses.
Holby City ended recently after decades on screen, with the last episode airing on March 29, 2022, as fans "sobbed their eyes out" after the credits started to roll, emotional it was all over.
But Holby City seemingly got a revival during a recent episode of EastEnders, when fans spotted a poster which referenced the hospital. The old set of Holby City was built to replicate a NHS hospital.
It has made regular appearance on EastEnders recently, including when Kheerat supported Ben and took him to his sexual health clinic. Ben had to have a HIV test after he was attacked by Lewis in a horrifying attack.
Whilst some of the old signage is there, Walford General Hospital signs make a more prominent appearance.
During those scenes, excited fans took to social media to reference the soap crossover.
"The Walford Sexual Health clinic looks remarkably like the old Holby set or is it me? Freaky," one viewer tweeted, whilst another joked: "Ben Mitchell is in the Holby City hospital!!!!! Two BBC soaps collide and my brain can't take it."
A third viewer penned: "Yeah, they actually are using the Holby set."
Fans were devastated when Holby City ended, with the soap announcing the news earlier this year.
"We’re very sorry to bring you the sad news that Holby City will come to an end in March next year, after 23 amazing years. We are so very grateful to all of Holby’s wonderful cast, crew, writers, producers - and to our millions of loyal viewers and fans for being part of our show," a post on the show's Twitter read at the time.
"This tough decision reflects the BBC’s commitment to make more programmes across the UK and to better reflect, represent and serve all parts of the country. Holby will remain on air on Tuesdays until next March, and we will continue to bring you a regular dose of all things Holby right here until then. We promise that Holby will get the send-off it deserves."
