EA Sports FC 25: Release date timing announced

EA Sports FC 25 is almost here. And if you are as raring to go as we are, you’ll be glad to hear the timings of the game release and the companion app have been announced.

Console players who have forked out for the Ultimate Edition of EA Sports FC 25 will be able to access the game from midnight on Friday, September 20.

The PC version will then go live from 5am.

This is a week ahead of the standard edition launch of EA Sports FC 25, on September 27. Mirroring the early access release, console players will be able to kick off from midnight while PC players get entry to the pitch five hours later at 5am.

EA FC 25 web and companion app release dates

EA FC 25's companion app lets you open player packs, access the transfer market, and complete squad-building challenges (EA Sports)

The web app was the first place players could start building out their Ultimate Team, though. It went live on September 18, while the companion app will be available from September 19, a day ahead of the game’s early access release.

You don’t need to have forked out for the Ultimate Edition of EA Sports FC 25 to access the web app or the companion app. If anything, these resources are most useful to players who haven’t forked out £99.99 for the Ultimate Edition.

What can you do on the companion app?

The Companion app gives players a chance build their dream squad and gain a competitive edge before the game commences proper.

This also an opportunity to scoop potential bargains on the transfer market before the full game kicks off – though it can take a couple of days or more to unlock this feature, anyway.

EA has revealed that early access will include a Team of the Week 1, player of the month SBSs, special evolutions and more. (EA Sports)

With less time to trade players and complete objectives, you may wind up with less coin to spend on more valuable packs when the game does eventually launch on September 27.

EA has also confirmed that an EA FC 25 Team of the Week 1 squad will be available when the early access period begins, which will also be accessible through the companion app.

While that sought-after collection of players hasn’t been revealed yet, it is expected to include England and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, Barcelona’s 17-year-old wunderkind Lamine Yamal, and Al-Ittihad’s Karim Benzema, among others.

Finally, those coming back from Ultimate Team 24 will be greeted with returning user rewards.
