E-scooter rider in 'life threatening' condition after Temple Gate crash

A woman is in a "life threatening" condition following an e-scooter crash in Bristol last night (October 26). Emergency services were called to Temple Gate after a car collided with an e-scooter at around 8.20pm.

The rider of the e-scooter, a woman in her 20s, sustained a head injury. She was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary before being transferred to Southmead Hospital.

The incident left the road blocked for several hours during the evening. It was not until around 11.30pm that the incident was described as "cleared".

Avon and Somerset Police is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following the serious collision. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or from any motorists with relevant dashcam footage.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We’re appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious injury collision in Bristol last night, October 26. A car collided with an e-scooter on Temple Gate at around 8.20pm.

"The rider of the e-scooter, a woman in her 20s, sustained a head injury and was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary before being transferred to Southmead Hospital. Her condition is currently described as life threatening.

"Anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw what happened is asked to contact us. We’d also like to hear from any motorists who have dashcam footage of the collision."
