Consumer champion website Money Saving Expert has issued a stark warning over Universal Credit payments that could have affected some 20,000 people.
Those who claim the benefit may have been paid the wrong amount because of the way the system calculates benefit payments, according to MSE - which was founded by finance guru Martin Lewis. The error has occurred because of the way details of earnings for those who claim Universal Credit while working are received, it has emerged.
Around 40 per cent of people who receive Universal Credit are also in employment.
