With spring well on the way, there are some days off to look forward to over the next couple of months as we head towards Easter - but benefit claimants should bear in mind how their payments will be affected.
Easter with it brings two bank holidays in April, which are soon followed by three bank holidays in May - Brits will enjoy an extra Monday off this year to mark the coronation of King Charles. But if you're in receipt of benefits such as Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Child Benefit payments, these holiday dates could affect when you will be paid.
The gov.uk website explains that if your payment date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, you will usually be paid on the last working day beforehand instead. However, this can vary depending on which type of benefits you receive, so it's worth double-checking when yours is due, BristolLive reports.
