DWP State Pension claimants could be due £600 cash boost this winter

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has issued an update to its guidance to help older people more easily find out whether they are eligible for the one-off £300 ‘Pensioner Cost of Living Payment’ in addition to their yearly Winter Fuel Payment.

With the cost of living crisis continuing to worsen and the energy price cap set to soar in the coming months, over eight million households of State Pension age throughout the UK who get the Winter Fuel Payment will receive the £300 between November and December.

The DWP has since revealed how much people will receive through the Winter Fuel Payment depending on their circumstances. Examples include situations in which somebody lives on their own, with a partner over or under 80, and whether either of them claim other benefits.
