DWP: Easter and Bank Holiday payment dates for Universal Credit, PIP and Child Benefit

With Easter just a few weeks away people are being reminded about changes to payment dates for some crucial benefits.

This year Easter falls on the weekend of April 7, which is Good Friday. Easter Sunday will be April 9 and the Easter Holidays run from Monday April 3 and Friday April 4. This means there will be some changes to when benefits are paid.

The government website shows that anyone expecting these benefit payments on one of the Easter Bank Holidays will receive them on Thursday, April 6 this year.

Benefits are usually paid straight into a bank, building society or credit union account. If your payment date is on a weekend or a bank holiday, you'll usually be paid the working day before, however this can vary between benefit types so it's worth checking your own.

Upcoming Bank Holidays in England and Wales

  • Friday, April 7 - Good Friday
