News of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) latest cost of living support was welcomed by millions of UK households. Rising prices have squeezed budgets and the upcoming roll out of the 2023/24 payments will give a much-needed boost to many.
The government's recently announced payment schedule for the next wave of cost of living support means that cash could start landing in bank accounts from next month, although the government hasn't given an exact date as yet. The official line is Spring 2023.
The package is worth up to £1,350 for those on a low-income, claiming disability benefits and pensioner households. However, not everyone claiming benefits will automatically qualify for the £900 means-tested payment which is due to be made in three lump sums over the course of the new financial year, according to a report by Daily Record.
