The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed the payment date for the final £600 cost of living payments.
Millions across the country are eligible for the cash support this winter amid soaring energy bills. Households will receive the boost in a bid to help them tackle the ongoing cost of living crisis, with a total of £4.6billion being issued to older people across the UK, including Pensioner Cost of Living Payments and £11.6million Winter Fuel Payments being made this year.
The payments will be put directly into the bank accounts of those eligible, with the DWP stating that the majority of payments have now landed. The payment reference on bank statements will begin with the person's National Insurance number following by "DWP WFP".

Despite the majority of payments already being made, there are some people still waiting for the support. Some people of State Pension age have not yet received the cash, with the DWP urging people not to worry and that payments will continue into January.
However, anyone who does not receive their payment by January 13, 2023, should contact the Winter Fuel Payments centre online or call 0800 731 0160, the Daily Record reports.
UK Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Stride said: “As the cold weather bites, it is good to be able to confirm that over 99 per cent of eligible pensioners have already received as much as £600 to help with their energy bills this winter.
“These payments are just one part of the wider support package we are delivering to help with rising bills, with additional help to follow next year, including the biggest State Pension increase in history.”
The vast majority of Winter Fuel Payments will hit bank accounts automatically, but there are some eligible people who may need to make a claim. Those who qualify but does not receive benefits or a State Pension and have never claimed the support before will need to claim.
Claims can be made until March 31, 2023. Full details can be found on GOV.UK.
