The first instalment of the £650 cost of living payment from the government is set to hit bank accounts from July 14.
The one-off cash payment is being provided to people by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to help with the soar in the cost of living. Those who claim both a means-tested benefit and Tax Credits from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will be eligible for the payment.
It will be paid into bank accounts in two instalments with the first payment of £326 making its way from July 14, continuing to the end of the month. Claimants who only receive either Working Tax Credits or Child Tax Credit will receive the first of their two payments later this year with an exact date still to be announced.
