The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed the Christmas payment dates for benefit claimants.
Most benefits are paid once a month, usually into your bank, building society or credit union account. If your payment is due on a bank holiday, you will usually be paid on the last working day before the holiday.
However, this can change if the payment date falls on a bank holiday. The countdown to Christmas is on with December 25 just less than two weeks away. Christmas Day arrives on a Sunday this year, which means Boxing Day is on Monday and the bank holiday moves to Tuesday, December 27.
