DWP £301 cost of living payment to be paid to almost 400,000 North East families this spring

Thousands of North East families will receive a £301 cost of living payment this spring.

A total of 395,000 families on means-tested benefits will automatically get receive the cash, which will be the first of five direct support payments totalling £1,350.

And, 349,000 people on disability benefits in the area will also automatically receive a £150 payment this summer.
