Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s daughter Simone has revealed her professional wrestling name as she prepares make her long-awaited WWE debut.
The 20-year-old, who’s a fourth generation World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler on her dad’s side of the family, was originally signed in early 2020.
Her debut has been delayed for almost two years however after she sustained injuries that required surgery and rehabilitation.
She now seems ready and raring to go, sharing an image of her new wrestling name on Instagram Stories, which she revealed to be “Ava Raine”.
It was the very same platform she chose to first announce her signing.
Alongside a picture of beaming while wearing a grey WWE t-shirt, she wrote: “To the little girl who fell in love with wrestling & said ‘this will be my life one day’, this is for you. I’m humbled, grateful & ready to work. Let’s do this. @wwe @wwenxt”.
Her dad, who has since go on to become a top Hollywood actor, was bursting with pride too that she was continuing the family businness.
He said: “First of all, what an honour that my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps but more importantly, follow in my footsteps sounds cliché, but she actually wants to create and blaze her own path, which is so important.”
Ms Johnson will be the WWE’s first-ever fourth generation wrestler, following in the footsteps of her great-grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia, grandfather “Soulman” Rocky Johnson, and her dad, who was known as “The Rock” during his time in the ring.
