Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was in tears this evening after fellow actor Rob Delaney thanked him for reaching out after his son died.
Rob, 45, and wife Leah were left devastated in 2018 after their son Henry died aged just two from a brain tumour.
Later, Rob worked with Dwayne on 2019 film Hobbs and Shaw and, as they both appeared on The One Show to speak about their upcoming projects, he spoke about how the Hollywood star had reached out to him.
When Rob revealed the heartbreaking news of Henry's death in a social media post, Dwayne was among those to pay tribute even though they had not yet begun filming together.
Dwayne had tweeted: "Stay strong my friend. My ohana sends love and light to you and your ohana."
Rob, who was appearing on The One Show to speak about his memoir about his late son, said: "He sent me a lovely tweet after Henry died, which he didn't have to do. That was very sweet and made me feel great."
Wiping a tear away, Dwayne said: "I have babies at home, all girls, 21, six and four. That story, hearing that rocked us in our household."
"Dwayne did a good template, he said Henry's name and said something sweet, and he just did it," Rob continued.
In a devastating Medium post written before his death, Rob documented how little Henry first became sick at the age of 11 months and kept vomiting up his food.
At the time, Rob and Leah were told he may have a urinary tract infection, but as the months went on and Henry's weight plummeted, they sought specialist help.
Tragically, their doctor found a large brain tumour pressing down on his emetic centre, which was causing him to be sick.
An operation to rid Henry of the tumour resulted in Bell's palsy, deafness in one ear and the drooping of his left eye, as the surgeon had to damage his cranial nerves to cut out the growth.
Henry lost his fight at the beginning of 2018, but Rob and Leah had been warned the disease was terminal when the tumour came back.
"My wife and his brothers and I just wanted to be with him around the clock and make sure his final months were happy. And they were," he said.
