The DVLA is reminding all motorists over the age of 70 that they need to renew their license every three years. Drivers must have a valid license or they will face a £1,000 fine.
Motorists are able to use the online renewal system to avoid delays, and it is also more effective than middle man companies who the DVLA warns can rip people off with higher prices. The driving body is advising motorists over 70 to only renew their license directly from the Government.
They have also warned drivers to be cautious about other websites offering the service, reports The Liverpool Echo. Many of these websites appear high up in search engine results, and even though they charge money to transfer renewal applications to the DVLA, they are in no way associated with the government agency.
