Partizan Belgrade's sporting director Ivica Iliev has hailed Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as better than Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland.
Vlahovic has taken the world by storm over the past 18 months, becoming one of the most deadliest finishers across football and being linked every major club around Europe.
The striker joined Fiorentina from Partizan in 2018 and has gone from strength to strength in Italy's top flight.
Manchester United are said to be interested in signing the 21-year-old as the long-term replacement to both Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo.
OK Calcio Mercato on Wednesday claimed that Arsenal have had a bid accepted in the region of €80million (£66.6m), though the report goes on to add that the striker has allegedly agreed to join Serie A giants Juventus when his contract expires in 2023.
Should he join Arsenal, Juventus or United, Iliev believes that Vlahovic is better 'technically' than the Norwegian striker.
"I am waiting for the moment he signs for a top top club, for me it is normal that every top club in the world wants him, I think the whole of Europe wants him, now I hope that he will sign for the best club for his career," Iliev told Mirror Football.
"He needs to choose the best place for his career because he is still so young and has a lot of years in front of him to improve and become one of the biggest and best strikers in the world.
"I always watch him and think [he's like] Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, maybe now in this moment Haaland is stronger physically but believe me, technically, Vlahovic is the better player.
"He can play like a second striker; you have more options with him than with Haaland and these two players will be head-to-head until the end of their careers."
The Express has recently claimed that clubs, including United, have been put off by Vlahovic's representatives demanding £16.7m up front.
Quoting European football expert Gabriele Marcotti on his Gab and Juls podcast, the article says: "The issue is the agents.
"We've talked about this before but the numbers that are out there are something like £12.5m (€15m) to £16.7m (€20m) in commission now to make this deal happen, plus they want 10 per cent on a future sale, which is extremely unusual.
"It creates a pretty dangerous precedent. This is what has turned off a lot of clubs.
"My understanding is a lot of clubs have enquired about Vlahovic.
"From Bayern, to Spurs, obviously the Harry Kane situation, to Manchester United, to Real Madrid. Not 'we want to buy him'. Even [PSG] have been in touch.
"And then when they hear from the agents they're like 'we're not going to do that'."
